East Japan Earthquake, nuclear power plant disaster, and workers’ unity 7

For all member of APWSL in each country.
September 11 is a day 6 months after the earthquake disaster.
Meeting and demonstration parade which ask for escape from "nuclear power 
reactor" together with revival from earthquake disaster, were held all over 
the country. In Tokyo, 60,000 and in Nagoya 2,000 people participated. 
Support activities by workers and labor unions for stricken areas continues.
On the other hand, in Nagoya, the citizen group collected contribution, 
purchased the radiation measurement machine, and started original inspection 
system mainly of food. It is a example which shows delay of support by the 
government.

(4) The 7th ATU regular conference was held.
The 7th regular conference of ATU was held on 23rd. Although the report of 
the convention will be made later, secretariat assistant general manager of 
ATU-S citizen's meeting, Mr. Nakamura, was elected as the chief secretary. 
It is expected that organic relation of activity of ATU and ATU-S will be 
strengthened further.

(3)  Follow-up of Aisin Kiko (AKK) / Mr. Yoshida’s trial
The prior arrangement of Aisin Kiko Co., Ltd./ Mr.Yoshida’s trial was made 
with the lawyer on 20th. They checked the situation etc. of trial 
examination supposing the jobs which he takes after return to work place. 
The 1st trial will be held in the Nagoya District Court on October 4.

(2)  Denso / Mr. Takahira’s struggle.
Mr. Takahira who was working at Denso Corporation, one of main companies of 
Toyota group as a fixed-term employee gained authorization about his 
worker's accident in November last year.
And Mr. Takahira who is also a partner of ATU is tackling with the labor 
referee which asks Denso about the violation of an obligation to care for 
workplace safety from the worker's accident.
The prior arrangement was done with the lawyer on 16th.
ATU for all the workers who work at the associated companies of Toyota Motor 
is getting many results by collective bargaining, although there are not so 
many members. For example, in Denso, number of mental occupational 
physicians increased from 2 to 10 now, and they made reappointment system 
better, so there are some workers who are making effort to come back without 
resigning.

(1) JTEKT / Mr.Tanaka’s trial is to agreement by money reconciliation.
On 9th, 2 years after presenting a case to the court, the JTEKT / Mr.Tanaka’s trial was totally solved by money reconciliation at 3 person settlement 
talks under presiding judge command.
Although he could not return to work even though he has requested up to now 
with his supporters, it became a good result in which he obtained some 
advance, and the agreement which he himself also can compromise.  From now 
on, we will wait for generalization of the struggle.
