<br>>Dear Rev. Jang Chang Weon and friends at APWSL Korea,

<br>>Thank you for your proposals and your energetic commitment to APWSL network.
<br>>We appreciate your emphasis on the grassroots solidarity and we are ready to
<br>>fully cooperate with you for the success of the exchange program.
<br>>
<br>>We had our regular meeting of the Kansai group last nights and discussed
<br>>your proposals.
<br>>
<br>>We agree on the basic idea. We respect your past experiences of organizing
<br>>exchange programs and understand your expectations. But before going into
<br>>further detail, we have to clarify some technical problems.
<br>>
<br>>1. Air tickets
<br>>
<br>>As we suggested earlier (and as you seem to agree), "package tours" which
<br>>include hotels might be the most reasonable option. This means the
<br>>delegates are to stay at hotels. Hotel fees are included in the package
<br>>even if you don't use hotels and choose home-stay.
<br>>
<br>>For example, "package tours to Korea" of 4 days (3 nights) including hotels
<br>>are around 35,000 yen (It might be cheaper in your country). Even ticket
<br>>without hotels can cost as much.
<br>>
<br>>2. Local cost
<br>>
<br>>You suggested that "air transportation will be shoulder by the Korean
<br>>delegates while the local cost will be shouldered by the host in Osaka".
<br>>
<br>>Our understanding is that hotels (including breakfast) are included in the
<br>>package. Therefore APWSL Japan or Kansai Group will pay local costs other
<br>>than lodgings (and breakfast). At this moment we don't have precise budget
<br>>but we will discuss it after the rough itinerary is agreed on.
<br>>
<br>>Number of delegates are the decisive variable because of the capacity of the
<br>>friendly facilities and our staffs.
<br>>
<br>>3. Tentative itinerary (to be discussed)
<br>>
<br>>Our tentative proposal for the itinerary is the following:
<br>>
<br>>Day 1: Arrival at Kansai Airport and move to the hotel(s) & check-in.
<br>>Go to Ikaino Area (Korean Town in Osaka City)
<br>>Dinner in a certain place (possibly at KCC?)
<br>>
<br>>Day 2: Go to Kyoto
<br>>Visit "Kyoto Union" (a local "community-union" type group)
<br>>Sightseeing (Buddist temples etc)
<br>>Go back to Osaka for dinner with labor activists
<br>>
<br>>Day 3: (In Osaka)
<br>>Visit Harbor Workers' Union, Public Workers' Union
<br>>Visit history musium and peace musium
<br>>Sightseeing (Osaka Castle etc)
<br>>Exchange on Migrant Workers issue and/or Regional cooperation among trade
<br>>unions and community organizations
<br>>Dinner (possibly at You Jae Mo's church?)
<br>>
<br>>Day 4:
<br>>Shopping
<br>>Exchange with consumers' coop group?
<br>>Move to the airport
<br>>Departure
<br>>
<br>>4. The meeting on February 27th
<br>>
<br>>We agreed to have a meeting with you on your way back from Bangkok.
<br>>We want to know the exact time of arrival and departure.
<br>>We plan the meeting on the evening of 27th in Osaka City (General Union's
<br>>office).
