<br>We are pleased to invite you to the following activities and events which will be held in Cebu City , Philippines in December 2006:
<br>
<br>1. "JOBS and JUSTICE: An International Conference on Neo-Liberal Labor Market Restructuring, Labor Rights and Workers' Resistance" - Dec. 7-8, 2006
<br>This event is co-organized by the APRN, the Asia-Pacific Workers Solidarity Links-Philippines (APWSL), Asia-Pacific Mission for Migrants
<br>(APMM) and the Action, Research and Education Network of Aotearoa (ARENA). The Ecumenical Institute for Labor Education and Research
<br>(EILER) is the local host organization.
<br>
<br>The Conference is now the designated APRN Annual Conference, and is a venue for workers' organizations, trade unions, non-governmental
<br>organizations and labor advocates to exchange information on the current trends in neo-liberal market restructuring in the various global regions and share their experiences in struggles.
<br>
<br>2. "Conference on US Militarism and War on Terror in the Asia-Pacific" on December 9-10, 2006.
<br>
<br> This is a joint initiative of the APRN, the International League of People's Struggles (ILPS), APMM, Asian Students Association, ARENA-New
<br> Zealand , and the Peace for Life Network.
<br>
<br> The Conference on US Militarism and War on Terror is an open and public gathering of grassroots movements, academe and civil society. The
<br> conference aims to raise awareness and understanding on the U.S. war on terror in the context of militarism, and how it is used to advance
<br> U.S. economic and political interests in the region.
<br>
<br> 3. Launching of the Regional Anti-Bases Campaign ?V December 10,2006 (evening)
<br>
<br> 4. Other meetings in Cebu City sponsored by other organizations:
<br>
<br> ILPS East Asia/Oceania Consultative Assembly ?V December 12,2006
<br> Migrante Meeting ?V December 14,2006
<br>
<br> 5. Other parallel activities like mass actions, discussion groups and concert to be held around the time in Cebu City .
