5）The explosion happened at Fine Sinter Co., Ltd.
The explosion happened at the Kasugai factory of Fine Sinter Co., Ltd., 
where some members are working, on 22:00 of April 27. One injured person 
(man employee of 40’s) was brought into hospital, due to injury of facial 
fractures and the head bruise. This kind of accident cannot be allowed, so 
ATU revealed to continue requests for safety to the company after that.

４）Participated in ‘Labor Notes Rally’ in Detroit.
Mrs. Kiyoko Ban (Representative of Women’s Union), director of ATU・S, 
participated in ‘Labor Notes Rally’ (international rally held by 
innovative labor unions of USA in every 2 years) held in Detroit from April 
23 to28.  According to Mrs. Ban, the concern for the automobile 
manufacturing there were very high.

３）The trial to request withdrawal of dismissal to Mr. Tanaka of JTEKT was 
held.
As reported so far, the trial to request withdrawal of dismissal to Mr. 
Tanaka of JTEKT on April 13 at the local court of Nagoya. It is still under 
preparation for the trial. We, supporters group, decided to start gathering 
signatures, which will be submitted to the presiding judge requesting for 
early victory at the court decision.

２）Discussion with Kariya Labor Standards Inspection Office about 
correction of ‘Free overtime work ’ at Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd.
Up to now, ATU continued to propose correction of 'Free overtime work' to 
Toyota-affiliated Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. for several times, and to discuss 
with Kariya Labor Standards Inspection Office. On April 9, again, visited 
familiar Kariya Labor Standards Inspection Office, and requested strong 
administrative guidance to the company.

１） The 5th Lecture of Toyota labor series course was held.
The 5th Lecture of Toyota labor series course sponsored by the ATU・S was 
held on April 3. Two design workers who worked in the enterprise related to 
Toyota reported about the actual situation of the office.
Especially, the problem of technical matters and the development process 
regarding the Toyota car recall problem in North America were clarified, and 
got good appreciation from the participants.
Some participant researchers said their impression "The contents were which 
we could not hear up to now."
Moreover, ATU・S is preparing to make booklet of this day’s contents, to 
make use for the approach in the future to think about how to work in 
Toyota.
