Mr.Katsuaki Watanabe
Toyota Motor Corporation
Japan

Dear Mr.Katsuaki Watanabe,

The ELectrical Trades Union of Australia(ETU)wishes to raise its
concerns directly with you regarding the treatment of Toyota workers in
the Phillipines.

The Union is concerned that a number of workers have had their
employment terminated unjustly by your company.

Further that your company does not recognize their right to belong to a
union of their choice and that represents their interests in the
Phillippines. The ETU believes that this is the reason for their
dismissal.

The ETU believes that Toyota's action in failing to recognize the
employees Union and terminating the employees reflects badly on the
Company and does not show Toyota to be a respected corporate citizen. It
is in the interest ofToyota, its management, customers and other
employees that to be seem in the international community as a
responsible and fair employer.

The ETU calls on Toyota to immediately reinstate th eemployees
terminated and commence negations with their Union.Thank you.

Respectively yours,

Alex McCallum
Assistant Secretary

GregCombet, Australian Council Trades Union Secretary
