Dear Parat,

Greetings!  Hope you are well.  We have been 
extremely busy last month due to the 
International Labor Solidarity Mission and the 
International Solidarity Affairs.

As what Rev. Chang has mentioned in his earlier 
letter, the APWSL members who attended the ILSM 
had a discussion night of May 1.  Those who 
attended the discussion were South Korea, 
Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and 
Philippines.  The main thing that we discussed 
was the proposed sub-regional meeting on October 
in time for the WSF.  However, we were in unison 
that we do not want to hold it during that time 
for various reasons, most especially because we 
do not want to attach APWSL to WSF.

Thus, there were several suggestions that came in the meeting:

a)  subregional meeting in the Philippines in 
time for the ASEAN Summit on Dec. 11-14, 2006 (suggested by the APWSL-Phils)
b)  scout for another big event in the region 
where we can hold the meeting as back-to-back activity (suggested by AAWL)
c)  have a subregional meeting in July and then 
an open meeting for all the APWSL members on 
December in the Philippines (suggested by 
Australia and supported by all the other members in the discussion)

We agreed that we shall submit these 
recommendations to you.  Specifically for 
suggestion #2, we will seek the help of all the 
APWSL members in looking for events in the region 
where we can hold the subregional meeting.  AAWL 
approves of the suggestion to hold the 
subregional meeting on Dec in the Phils, however, 
its main concern is perhaps it might be too late 
for the meeting already.  It's because no 
subregional meeting has been done yet since the congress took place in 2005.

I will try to write the minutes of the discussion we had and send it to you.

We hope that indeed we can have a meeting within 
this year.  We hope you can consider our 
suggestion in the APWSL Philippines to hold it on 
December here.  We will have parallel activities 
for the said ASEAN Summit and we are also 
planning to have big protest actions against the Summit.
