Dear Rev. Jang,
Thank you for your invitation to attend the APWSL
regional coordinators meeting on November. The
APWSL Philippines confirms its participation on
the said conference. May we request that you
give us a more detailed schedule about the
conference and the subsequent forum that you have mentioned in your letter.
I have written you, Parat, Gywneth and the
subregional coordinators of our proposal for
APWSL to co-organize a conference on labor
flexibilization to be held in the Philippines on
December. The conference will occur prior to the
ASEAN Summit Leaders Meeting which we have talked
about during our consultations on the evening of
May 1. If you will remember, one of our
proposals was to hold the regional meeting here
on December as a back-to-back activity with the
ASEAN Summit. But we agreed that we will still
try to have an earlier date of a meeting since
almost everyone feels that December is quite far
away, thus this meeting that the APWSL Korea is hosting.
But going back to my earlier letter, we really
hope APWSL will agree with co-sponsoring the
labor flexibilization conference. Parat says she
still has to consult the other members of APWSL.
I hope you have received my letter. But just in
case you have not, I am attaching it below. I
hope to hear a comment from you about this idea.
Will send you the registration of APWSL Philippines later.
Thanks again!
Regards,
Tess
