10 April 2006

Dear friends,

Warmest greetings!

On behalf of the workers, we would like to invite you to take part in
the International Labor Solidarity Mission (ILSM) in the Philippines
from Apr 29-May 7, 2006.

The ILSM aims to bring to the attention of the international
community the ongoing state terrorism, political killings and other
forms of political repression and human rights violations committed
by the US-supported Gloria Macapagal Arroyo government against the
labor sector. It also aims to generate international pressure on the
government to stop violating human rights and peoples' rights with
impunity and to stop the killings of unionists, union-supporters and
activists in the Philippines.

The activity is jointly organized by the Ecumenical Institute for
Labor, Education and Research (EILER), Center for Trade Union and
Human Rights (CTUHR) and Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT).

From May 2-5, participants will be divided into four teams and will
document and investigate cases of political killings on the labor
sector. The four areas for the solidarity mission are Southern
Tagalog, Central Luzon, Negros (Visayas island) and Compostela Valley
(Southern Mindanao region). Participants will all come back to Manila
on May 6 for data collation and team reporting. On May 7, there will
be a public presentation and cultural tribute to the martyred workers.

For more details, please visit the ILSM website at
<http://ilsm.eilerinc.org/>http://ilsm.eilerinc.org/

STOP THE KILLINGS! END POLITICAL REPRESSION NOW!

In solidarity,
KMU International Department
